detergent – surface activation when dissolved in water to wash off stains on clothing. includes soap

solvent – liquid to melt down solid, liquid and gas. artificial oil-soluble solvent including oil, perchloroethylene, oil-soluble fluorine

soap – chemicals to remove stains by blending solvent or detergents

soil stains – wastes deteriorating sanitation of clothing. means of removing the stains is cleaning

hot machine – machinery with vaporization devices

cold machine – machinery without vaporization device

washer – so-called sid loading. conventional machinery used in water-cleaning

end-loading – programmed automatic machinery

gas – material without fixated form or mass, including air and gases

marker – device to attach labels

tanning – pucking out fur and oil from raw animal skin and softening it

mechanical action – action involving friction to foster dissolution of hardwired stains

ignition point – temperature where an object is naturally ignited

button trap – screen to filter buttons or pins stuck between cleaning machine and filter. subject to regular checkups and sanitary maintenance

insoluble stains – dark spots, rust, cement, soil, burns and etc.

boiling point – measuring molecular mass of solvent by using difference between the boiling point of solution and that of solvent

sizing – stiffening clothing by exerting force

acid – acetate, hydroxyl, fluorine acide, chloric acids..

oxidization – chemical reaction induced by adding up oxygen

oxidizer – hydrogen peroxide, permanganic acid, hypercapnic sodium, sodium bicarbonate

sodium – chemically natrium

hydrophilic – absorbing water

brush – brush. so-called “sasari”

water-soluble soap – chemical made out of detergent containing water

wet stain – stains including minerals, sugar, sweat, fruit juice, plant, alcoholic protein, meat juice and etc.

spotting – actions to remove stains

alkaline - ammonia
filtration – methods to winnow stains by passing them through filter by pumping with consistent pressure

wet cleaning – simple cleaning with hands or brushing in short time to clean

oil soap – oil solvent to remove oil-soluble stains

emulsification – when detergent is put into solvent, the color becomes similar to amber and when water is added, it becomes milky. This is called emulsification.
(RH) is 100%.

ignition point – temperature where solvent ignites if fire is nearby

pre-spotting – removing stains before cleaning

distillation – separating pollutants and water to obtain pure oil solvent by boiling the material over 120℃ and then putting into the condenser

vacuum distillation – purifying in space without air

ultrasonic spotter – device using vibrator with Rochelle mineral or crystallizer to generate frequency above 20,000 Hz.

color test – ironing after spraying water onto the inner stitch laid on white absorbing towel

conveyer – device to keep running water-cleaning constantly and automatically

tumbler - drier

TLV – normally allowed threshold of the solvent’s toxicity. expressed in terms of PPM. marginal concentration safe for workers when working 8 hours a day

powder cleaning – detergent to clean fur coat with mixture of powder and solvent

activated carbon – fine powder obtained by burning organism and then activated with heat used to remove fatty acids of solvent and pigments

reducing – removing oxygen / reducer – hydrosulphite, rongarite / after-spotting – stain removal after cleaning / weight – amount of laundry in washer / liquid amount – amount of solvent during laundry / dissociation – falling out of stains / discoloration – loss of pigments in clothing / bath ratio – amount of water or solvent used in laundry / acid bath – alkaline neutralization, disinfection, sterilization, yellowing prevention / surface tension – tension applied to the surface of liquid / rare solution – solute being minimized / Source: quoted from “Cleaners Club”
